3D Printing can have its ups and downs, just like most products on the market. However, when it comes to printing, there is always someone who wants to improve the normal standard. 3D printing has been a huge success and has revolutionized many different industries for the past few years. It not only has continuously moved forward with current technology, but it only continues to improve with each passing year. One of the drawbacks that were reported was temperature control.
The Problem of Temperature Control
When a person would use the 3D printer for a long period of time, the temperatures would get hard to control, causing the machine to occasionally malfunction. When it comes to controlling the temperature on a 3D printer, it is essential that it functions properly for machine stresses, buildup, and additional features that make the machine function correctly. The temperature needs to be controlled in order to have consistent productivity and the ability to maintain its series.
However, since that problem was mentioned, there was a simple solution that was created to stop this from happening from future users. This is where an induction coil was invented. They are placed around the perimeters of the power bed to harness a more controlled heating rise. There were many tests performed to find the correct alignment of where to place the coils, however, the best results were along the power bed. They also used alternate qualities of metals to get the quality that would serve the best temperature control.
New Research Has Surpassed Expectations
Researchers are still currently testing the motion induction, however, with the products that have included the induction coils, and the 3D printer has far surpassed expectations. This also includes testing new technology with the power consumption of the coils; however, the printers are exceptionally crafted to current trends and standards.
According to DSM, the researchers express that in order to have a high functioning induction coil, that some of the materials can be improved. They share that customers still need to use the printers with caution as overuse could cause damages. However, if the engineers that are using the machines pay close attention to the printer, there should be no reason for concern.
